Mavic 2 Drones
DJI, the current leader in drone tech, has recently unveiled two new models of the compact foldable drone.
The new drones are successors to the popular Mavic Pro, and are marketed as the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom.
Among improvements are the Hasselblad 20 MP camera, up to 31 minutes of flight time, reduced noise level, 8km 1080p video transmission and a higher top speed of 41mph.
As a commercial drone operator, I don’t see the need for additional range – the limit of 500m VLOS (Visual Line of Sight) as a regulation is imposed, and I also want to make sure that the drone is safe and within easy reach should any communication issue occurs.
I do, however, see the benefit from an improved camera, but it’s not enough for me to upgrade just now. I’m more than happy with the current DJI Mavic camera quality and performance.
